WELCOME TO 2024
Gentleman, my name is Stan Osborne, your new President, and its time to start preparing for a great 2024 season of golf here in Estes. But first, I want to thank past President John Tessler for his great leadership and commitment over the past 3 years. Board members should also be commended for their dedication and efforts for the club. Thank them when you see them.
The first thing we need is to get as many of you as possible registered by April 1. THIS IS IMPORTANT! CGA charges us that day for all active members on the roster. So, Aaron will have to deactivate those not yet signed up, so that we don’t pay for a player that does not return. You then cannot post scores until reactivated when we receive your application and dues.
To register, fill out the attached application form below and return with your check or cash only. Mail it in or take it to the pro shop which will have copies if you don’t print yourself. Dues remain $70, or $30 if you keep your handicap at another club. This gives you entry into the 2-week President’s Cup competition and all match play tourneys that you sign up for. Every Monday is still a $5 entry fee for all players, including guests. This is a course rule for the set-aside tee times.
The annual shotgun 6-6-6 golf, lunch and meeting in August will be $20, which includes your $5 entry. The Grand Lake home and away entry fee will be determined later. We may set up some skins days as well, which of course will be optional.
The proposed season schedule is similar to last year and will be sent out in the near future. We want to bring back the 3 new formats we tried last year: One-Man Scramble, Red/White/Blue, and Mix and Match. There will also be a couple of 2-Man Scrambles, but most days will be Low Net. We will be working on another combined Ladies/Mens event as well.
As for the STROKE play championship this year, we will change to 3 divisions instead of 2:
Open – Blue Tees
Senior – age 50+ – White Tees
Super Senior – age 70+ - Red Tees
