The Estes Valley Recreation and Park District Workcamper Program is designed as a seasonal volunteer opportunity which will enable the EVRPD to staff and support the Estes Park Campground at Mary’s Lake and the Estes Park Campground at East Portal in Estes Park, Colorado. We are looking for people who are self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, enthusiasm to interact with the public, and the ability to work in teams as well as independently.

This program is geared to people who are able to live on-site in their own RV/Fifth-wheel/Camper. Workcampers are provided sites with full hook-ups, propane, access to laundry facilities, trash removal, and Wi-Fi. The Workcamper Program allows for pairs to work between mid-May through mid-September. Each Camp Host/Camp Store Workcamper is expected to contribute 24 - 30 hours of work each per week in exchange for a full hookup site. Typical schedule is typically four 6-hour shifts per week with 3 days off. Holiday and weekend work is to be expected. Maintenance Workcampers are scheduled 32 - 40 hours/week and will receive wages in addition to a complimentary full hookup site.

Workcampers are selected on a variety of factors. Some previous related experience is preferred but not required. We understand that a major draw for Workcampers is to learn new skills, see new places, and meet new people while enjoying Colorado summers. We look forward to assembling a group of volunteers comprised of individuals who bring with them a wide variety of skills and life experiences. Enthusiasm and a positive attitude are key. The District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, or sexual orientation.

At the Estes Park Campgrounds, we provide an annual pre-season orientation for Workcampers where we give a thorough overview of the campground operations and our expectations. The campground manager and/or designated supervisor for each department will further train volunteer Workcampers in their individual assignments. Other special training opportunities occasionally occur through the camping season as needed. We expect that all Workcampers stay committed to serving the term of their agreement and will have a positive and rewarding experience.

Any of the following positions or a combination of positions may be filled by on-site Workcampers. We do our best to assign all of our Workcampers to positions that allow them to utilize their strengths, interests, and previous work experiences so that we are able to offer the best possible services to our guests.
